Monitor: what a round trip costs right now
Every 15 minutes we read the pools on Solana, Robinhood Chain, Base and BNB Chain: buy $1,000 or $10,000 of a stock’s tokens, then sell the same tokens straight back, fees and price impact included. This page shows the latest reading, at any hour: US market hours, nights and weekends. The lower the number, the cheaper the trade.

Round trip at the best pool, in basis points: 100 bp = 1%, so 25 bp on $1,000 is $2.50. Below each number: the middle of the last 24 hours. The cheapest chain for each stock is in bold. A dash: the stock is not on that chain, none of its pools there moved in the last 24 hours, or no pool there can take a trade that size. 1,000+: a tenth or more of the money is lost on the way. Bars run from 0 to 100 bp.
Free while we’re new
- Now. Monitor is free and needs no sign-up.
- Later. $29 a month or $290 a year. We will give 30 days’ notice before charging starts. Anyone who subscribes in the first 60 days keeps $29 for as long as they stay subscribed.
- Free for ever. Every public page (the stock pages, Chains, Weekend Watch, Prices, Proof, Corrections, and our statements and notes), Check a token, the trade receipt when it opens, and Monitor 24 hours late.
- Our bar before charging. 300 visits a week to this page, on a four-week average, counted by a cookie-free counter. A visit is one stay on the page, so someone who comes on four days counts four times. We will publish the count.
How it is measured
- The round trip. From each pool’s own state on the chain: how many tokens $1,000 or $10,000 buys, and what selling those tokens straight back pays, fees and price impact included. The cost is what is lost on the way.
- The best pool. At each reading we take the cheapest pool for each stock on each chain. Only pools whose own price moved in the last 24 hours count, so a pool nobody trades cannot look cheap.
- Hours. Costs can change with the US market’s hours: on Base, many stock tokens cost far more to trade when the US market is closed.
- Our own readings only. A round trip compares the token with itself, so no real-share price is needed: everything on this page comes from our readings of public blockchains.
- Not counted. Network fees, moving tokens between chains, and splitting a trade across several pools.
